ATHOL, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Several trees and wires came down in Athol during Wednesday’s storm, blocking roadways and leaving many residents without power. On Gage Road, one tree fell down on a home. No one was injured.
Other impacted roads included South Athol Road which had multiple trees come down on wires between Thrower Roads. New Sherborn Road at Conant Road, and Batchelder Road also were temporarily closed for downed trees and wires.
With another storm possible this afternoon, officials remind the public to not drive under downed trees or wires or try to move them and to call your local public safety agency to alert them.
