Driver In Deerfield Brushes Crossing Guard Near Schools

(South Deerfield, MA) A motorist is being charged with crosswalk violation, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and assault with a dangerous weapon after Deerfield Police responded to a report of an aggressive driver who brushed the pant leg of a crossing guard at the intersection of North Main Street and Pleasant Street. The violator admitted to officers that they were frustrated with waiting for the buses to be let out from Pleasant Street. The violator is scheduled to appear in Greenfield District Court some time in the spring. Officer Robert Thrasher issued the citations and criminal summons after witnesses were interviewed and officers were able to make contact with the violator.
