GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — A home on Green River Road in Greenfield sustained damage in an attic fire on Thursday morning.
According to the Greenfield Fire Department, the fire was reported just before 7:00 a.m. at 427 Green River Road when a resident noticed smoke coming from the chimney while outside the house.
Fire crews from Greenfield, Turners Falls, and South Deerfield all responded. The fire was brought under control in about 15 minutes.
Officials said the fire was electrical in nature and caused minor damage to the attic area. Despite that damage, the home is habitable.
