BERNARDSTON, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Further testing is taking place after elevated arsenic levels were discovered in the soil next to the Bernardston Elementary School property.
The soil was sampled as preparation for an outdoor learning center for students on town-owned land adjacent to the school and tested at 1.2 milligrams per kilogram above the state’s guidelines for safe soil.
Further testing will be done to better understand the soil composition and then action steps will be determined.
