(Turners Falls, MA) An individual was rescued from the buoys in the Connecticut River near Unity Park before the Gill-Montague Bridge in Turners Falls Wednesday evening. At about 7:25 p.m. reports of the person on the buoys came in and shortly after the Northfield Dive Team and other mutual aid emergency response teams were requested. The agencies worked together to perform a successful rescue of the civilian by approximately 8:33 p.m.

At approximately 8:30 p.m. Wednesday evening, the Turner Falls Fire Department made an announcement asking the public to avoid the area of Unity Park in Turners Falls while multiple mutual aid agencies are on the scene of an emergency incident. More information to follow.
