(Deerfield, MA) Workers at a local shop are being hailed for saving the business from a structure fire that could have been much worse. Workers quickly used fire extinguishers to knock down the bulk of the fire before crews from Deerfield Fire, South Deerfield Fire, and Greenfield Fire arrived on scene. Upon arrival, fire crews found the fire contained to a work bench after workers battled the blaze that spread up the wall and across the ceiling. Fire fighters on scene worked to identify and extinguish hot spots and extension. The Deerfield Police Department also assisted and Deerfield Fire put out a special thank you to Shelburne control for their assistance. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
