(Erving, MA)  — Erving residents will have a few changes to consider at this weekend’s annual town meeting. Among the warrant articles to be considered is a change in the date of the annual town meeting and election. The annual meeting is typically held on the first Wednesday in May with the election held the following Monday. Voters will be asked to change the election to the first Monday in May, which would then occur before the town meeting, which would be held the following Wednesday. Residents will also be asked to change the name of the Board of Selectmen to the more gender-neutral “selectboard,” and will consider a $10.5 million operating budget. Saturday’s annual town meeting begins at 10 am Saturday in the field outside Erving Elementary School.
