FRANKLIN COUNTY, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — On Thursday the final public meeting for the Northern Tier Passenger Rail Study will take place via Zoom at 6 p.m., register here for the event. MassDOT will accept feedback on the six alternatives to passenger service along the Northern Tier Route with potential stops in North Adams, Shelburne Falls, Greenfield, Athol, Fitchburg, Cambridge, and Boston.

Will you attend and spread the word about this FINAL public meeting where we’ll hear an in-depth discussion of the proposed alternatives? If you’re interested in rail along the Route 2 corridor, this briefing is critical. MassDOT must see strong public interest and we need your response to its game-changing ideas.”
According to MassDOT, “At this meeting, the study team will share an overview of the study’s background, review the study alternatives, outline issues and opportunities to consider, present draft recommended next steps and draft implementation plan, and garner feedback.”
