Fire In Williamstown 90% Contained At 947 Acres

(Williamstown, MA) The East Mountain Fire, which many local Franklin County fire departments are assisting with, is reportedly 90%  contained at 947 acres according to Fire District 12. The fire is the largest fire since 1999 but officials say no damage was done to the Appalachian Trail. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Local crews from Colrain, New Salem, Greenfield, Gill, Turners Falls, and Conway assisted with the blaze.
