(Hatfield, MA) A fire on Depot Road in Hatfield Thursday afternoon threatened a residence. The Hatfield Fire Department was dispatched around 12:30 p.m. Thursday. Hatfield Police were on scene and reported a fully involved deck fire that was close to the home.
According to the Hatfield Fire Department, several plastic items on the deck and three bags of fertilizer under the pool deck were found to be on fire, as was the pool structure. Crews worked quickly to put the fire out and only the siding of the residence sustained damage from the radiant heat.
Whately Fire Department provided assistance and the Hatfield Police Department managed traffic in the area. There were no injuries to the residents or firefighters reported.
