(Greenfield, MA) The first weekend of the first annual Light Up The Fairgrounds event at the Franklin County Fairgrounds brought over 1,000 cars in three days, according to event organizers. Sharon Cross, Promotions Director at WHAI and Bear Country Radio station, said the event was worth the long, cold hours it took to make it all happen.

“For me, the best part was seeing and hearing how happy it made everyone,” said Cross.

There are 34 businesses, organizations and private citizens participating this year, all competing for a grand prize of $1,000. There are also three non profits that benefit from money raised through the event: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Franklin County, the Franklin County Regional Dog Shelter, and the Franklin County Fairgrounds.
