TURNERS FALLS, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Next Monday, July 7th, FirstLight will be lowering the river to 170 feet, measured at the dam, to complete repairs on the dam gate after an oil spill on June 3rd released 445 gallons of hydraulic fluid into the Connecticut River.
The public boat launch at Barton’s Cove will be closed as water conditions will be dangerous. The repairs are expected to last for four days.
