GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Former Leyden Police Chief Dan Galvis has changed his plea in the case of illegally selling town equipment and has agreed to pay back money to the town and serve a year of probation.

Galvis appeared in Greenfield District Court earlier today and admitted to sufficient facts after originally entering a plea of not guilty to larceny and violating the standards of conduct for public employees.

Galvis was accused of selling town-owned equipment, including a truck, trailer, a motor, and a skid steer loader. Galvis will pay back more than $10,000 in addition to the probation term.
