(Northfield, MA) — Foul play is NOT suspected in the death of a man whose body was discovered in a stretch of the Connecticut River in Northfield Monday night. The Northwestern DA’s office says the body was first spotted by a bicyclist early Monday evening. It was eventually recovered by dive teams which launched from the nearby Northfield Mount Hermon boat ramp. The medical examiner is working to determine a cause of death and an identity of the victim, but the DA’s office says the death does not appear to be suspicious. It was the fourth body found in the river since the start of the spring season.
