(Greenfield, MA) — The COVID risk in Franklin County is starting to tick upward. The state has increased the county’s COVID threat from “moderate” to “substantial,” leaving Hampshire as the lone western county with a “moderate” designation. In response, the Greenfield Board of Health has recommended that people wear face coverings when indoors or in situations where they cannot social distance, regardless of their vaccination status. The recommendation is only advisory in nature, and is not a mandate at this point.
