(Greenfield, MA) — An effort to correct an erosion problem at the Franklin County Fairgrounds is about to go before the Greenfield Conservation Commission. The Franklin County Agricultural Society is seeking a city permit to begin repairing the slope on the back section of the fairgrounds property, which has been plagued for years by an erosion problem which has uprooted a number of trees and threatens a neighborhood below. The project has been on the commission’s agenda for several months but has not been acted upon as yet. A hearing is scheduled for May 11th.
