(Vernon, VT) Several Franklin County fire departments provided mutual aid to a two-alarm house fire Wednesday. The fire broke out at 70 Broad Brook Road in Vernon, Vermont Thursday afternoon and the crews were dispatched at approximately 4 p.m. With confirmation of the fire and heavy smoke scene coming from the residence a second alarm was struck bringing in additional aid. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but there were no injuries reported and the home was left uninhabitable, leaving two residents displaced. Responding agencies from Franklin County included Bernardston, Northfield, and Gill Fire Departments.
