(undated) — The risk for outdoor fires remains elevated in Massachusetts. Dry conditions combined with low humidity and expected high wind gusts have state officials concerned about the possibility for even the smallest outdoor fire to burn out of control. Residents are asked to limit outdoor fire activity and be especially careful to extinguish smoking and other potential fire accelerants, especially in remote or wooded areas.
