(undated) — The COVID 19 contagion threat in Franklin and Hampshire counties appears to be waning. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says the Franklin and Hampshire areas are still experiencing “substantial” virus transmission levels, down from the “high” designation that has been in place for the last several weeks. State health officials say Franklin County has seen a 72 percent drop in cases in the last two weeks, while Hampshire County cases are down 71 percent.
