(SOUTH DEERFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The Frontier Regional School District has approved a $13.76 million budget for fiscal year 2027, a 3.6% increase over the current year.
To keep the spending hike lower than originally projected, the district plans to cut seven positions, including the school librarian, replacing it with a library aide.
Officials say the changes help control rising costs like health insurance, though some staff and residents spoke out against the cuts during a public hearing.
