(South Deerfield, MA) — Three school committee meetings in the Frontier and Union 38 school districts have been postponed after a virtual meeting was hacked late last week.

Thursday’s Union 38 School Committee meeting had to be shut down after someone joined the meeting and began broadcasting pornography which popped up in several windows. The phenomenon is known as “Zoom Bombing,” and refers to incidents where people enter public meetings and post offending images in an effort cause distraction. The Union 38 meeting was not run using Zoom Technology, but a separate platform run by the district.

As a result, Tuesday’s Whately and Deerfield Elementary and Frontier Regional School meetings have been postponed, with Frontier likely to be rescheduled for later this week.
