GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The upcoming price increase for Greenfield’s municipal internet and phone services, was discussed at the latest GCET Board meeting.
General Manager John Lunt explained that with no price increase last year and the $2.50 to $6.50 increase depending on plan and services, still keeps them below the competitors prices which can be 30-35% higher than GCET’s according to Lunt.
Lunt also shared at Tuesday’s board meeting that last year GCET paid approximately $45,000 in payment processing fees, so rather than absorb and spread that cost across the customer base, GCET will only be charging customers who use credit/debit card payments the 2.3% processing fee, which may be avoided entirely by using other available payment options such as ACH electronic payments, checks, cash, and other forms.
