GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Update:

GCET was able to fully restore residential internet service Thursday afternoon after several days of outages due to equipment failure.

In a message from GCET on social media, GCET officials said they will begin work on a plan to “better safeguard the stability of the network.”

GCET, Greenfield’s municipal internet provider, has been able to restore service to approximately half of their customers as of Tuesday afternoon. The outage began Monday when a key piece of equipment failed. The replacement router is expected to arrive today.
