General Pierce Bridge Closed Friday

(GREENFIELD) — The General Pierce Bridge linking Greenfield and Montague City will be closed for part of the day on Friday. MassDOT has informed the City of Greenfield that the bridge will be closed from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday.

Motorists will need to seek an alternate route during those hours.

Greenfield Fire Department remembers 9/11 24 years later: “We will never forget”

On this 24th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks on America, the Greenfield Fire Department hosted a ceremony of remembrance at the fire station at 41 Main Street.

Fire Chief Robert Strahan addressed a small gathering of residents and GFD members. Strahan said September 11 this year was in some ways was very reminiscent of September 11, 2001.
