GILL, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The Gill Conservation Commission is preparing their final comments for the Water Quality Certification portion of Firstlight’s hydropower relicensing process.

On February 4th at 7 p.m. in Town Hall a public hearing will be held to review the comments regarding erosion, as well as FERC relicensing deliberations, from the Gill Conservation Commission and solicit additional comments from the public on the state of the river and is banks.

Comments from stakeholders will be considered by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protections and used to inform the relicensing. Anything Massachusetts DEP requires in their certificate will automatically be included in the final Federal Energy Commission (FERC) license.
