Gill-Montague Shortens School Year, April Vacation Out

The Gill-Montague Regional School Committee Thursday night voted to shorten the current school year by four days. The committee has cancelled the upcoming April vacation, and the school year will now conclude on June 12. Several Massachusetts school districts are mulling similar strategies in completing the school year in the midst of the COVID 19 pandemic.

Greenfield Fire Department remembers 9/11 24 years later: “We will never forget”

On this 24th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks on America, the Greenfield Fire Department hosted a ceremony of remembrance at the fire station at 41 Main Street.

Fire Chief Robert Strahan addressed a small gathering of residents and GFD members. Strahan said September 11 this year was in some ways was very reminiscent of September 11, 2001.
