(undated) – Girls on the Run Western MA has gone virtual for Spring 2020. All in person programming and events have been switched to virtual, a move that was not taken lightly.
”We are incredibly disappointed, as we know our coaches and our girls are too, but recognize our great collective responsibility to ensure a safer and healthier community for all,” said Council Director Alison Berman.
Girls on the Run Western Ma serves 1000 girls locally ages eight to 13, and strives to strengthen girls’ social, emotional, physical, and behavioral kills. Even though the organization cannot hold any 5k events or meet for lessons, there are resources available. GOTR, Girls on the Run at Home, is available to existing participants and are available in written format and YouTube. The #GOTRgotyourback outreach initiative aims to provide families with content, resources, and activities that support physical, emotional, and social health. Last, GOTR Connect will allow coaches to stay connected with their girls while schools are closed. For more information click here.
