(Franklin County, MA) Governor Healey’s veto of $205 million in net spending to balance the FY24 budget has resulted in funding cuts to Community Action agencies. Community Action Pioneer Valley, serving Franklin and Hampshire counties will lose approximately $277,000 in funding for their next fiscal year. In order to balance their budget, they face the possibility of reducing programs that serve low-income residents. Legislators have not taken any action to initiate an override of the Governor’s veto.
