BOSTON, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — On Thursday, Governor Healey signed a bill into law protecting firefighters from harmful forever chemicals called PFAS in their equipment that have been linked to cancer. By 2027 firefighters equipment manufacturers will be unable to sell or distribute items containing intentionally-added PFAS in Massachusetts.
