(undated) — The state may soon look to discourage swimming in areas other than beaches, state parks and waterfront properties. Governor Baker has filed “An Act Relative to Enhanced Enforcement of Swimming Limitations,” which would increase the maximum fine to $500 for entering or swimming in any waters on Department of Conservation and Recreation property that are not designated for such activity. It’s not known how much, if any, support for the bill exists in the Democratically-controlled Legislature.
