GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Governor Maura Healey, with local and state officials, will be in Greenfield today at 2 p.m. for an announcement on funding for free public transportation.
The Governor and Mayor Desrogher will be at the John W. Olver Transit Center at 12 Olive Street in Greenfield for the $30 million funding for “Try Transit” initiative announcement that comes as part of the fiscal year 2025 budget, making public transportation more accessible.
Franklin Regional Transit Authority has previously waived its fees during the pandemic and this funding will support the continuation of free public transit from November 1st, 2024 to June 30th, 2025.
