(Boston, MA) – Effective May 6, Massachusetts residents are required to wear face coverings in public. Governor Charlie Baker signed an executive order Friday imposing the new regulations, which become law this coming Wednesday.
“Everyone doing a small thing all the time can go a long way,” said Baker during Friday’s press conference.
Baker called face coverings a common sense measure and part of the “new normal” as the Commonwealth moves into the downward trend of the virus. Greenfield recently issued a mask advisory, but stopped short of requiring residents to wear face coverings in public.
