(Turners Falls, MA) — Arguably the most popular fall festival in Franklin County will not happen this year.
The organizers of the Great Falls Festival, formerly known as the Turners Falls “Pumpkinfest,” have announced that the 2020 event is being cancelled because of health concerns related to COVID 19.
“Many factors went into this decision. First and foremost was the need to keep our guests safe,” organizers said in a Facebook post released Friday. “The requirement for keeping the crowd at a minimum and allowing safe social distancing would be next to impossible.”
“We plan to be back in 2021 better than ever. During this crazy time, please be sure to continue to support our small businesses,” organizers added.
