Green River Swimming Area Reopens–But Not For Swimming Yet

(Greenfield, MA) — River levels are close to being back to normal following last week’s heavy rains–but there is still no swimming allowed in the Green River. The Greenfield Recreation Department has announced that the park on Nash’s Mill Road is open for everything but swimming at this point. DPW officials have spent several days removing debris from the river, but water tests still do not indicate that the area is safe for swimmers at this point.
