GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The city of Greenfield has announced that free parking is now available at the Olive Street Parking Garage from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The initiative is in support of dining at the over 25 restaurants in the downtown area.
Mayor Ginny Desorgher and the Greenfield Community and Economic Development Department created the free parking plan ahead of the fall tourism season. The city’s Parking and Traffic Commission voted in support of the plan at its August 27 meeting.
“Our downtown is a beautiful space that features a wealth of tremendous businesses,” said Desorgher. “I believe making our largest parking resource, the Olive Street Parking Garage, even more accessible to the community is a great way to support businesses as we approach the busy fall season.”
The free parking will not apply to on-street parking or at the municipal lots.
