(Greenfield, MA) Greenfield’s Department of Public Works, or DPW, announced a rate increase beginning July 1, 2020 and reflected in billing cycles January 2021. The increase comes as an effort to sustain the operating budget, retain earnings, and capital expenses. The water rate will increase by 4.40% and the sewer rate has increased by 7.3%. DPW Marlo Warner said Greenfield is still well below the state median according to a survey conducted in 2017.
