(Greenfield,MA) — It is recommended that people entering Greenfield businesses wear face coverings. That from the Greenfield Board of Health, which unanimously approved the recommendation at an emergency meeting held Monday. The board made the same recommendation for people entering all public and government buildings, regardless of vaccination status. The board stopped short of mandating mask use, preferring at this point to issue a recommendation only.
In a related story, the board plans to meet again Wednesday night to discuss whether to recommend that city council meetings be held virtually beginning in September. The board voted to allow the school committee meeting Wednesday night to be held in person at the John Zon Center. City Council President Penny Ricketts has ruled that monthly council meetings would be held in person at the Zon Center, while subcommittee meetings could be held virtually.
