(Greenfield, MA) — The city of Greenfield has begun reviewing its current form of government. Mayor Roxann Wedegartner and City Council President Ashli Stempel have announced formation of a seven-member charter review committee, which will examine the current charter and recommend potential changes.
Charter review committees are typically formed in years ending in zero. Greenfield’s last one was in 2010. The 2020 committee met for the first time on May 28th, 2020 and elected members David Singer as Chair City Councilor Otis Wheeler as Vice Chair. The committee will meet at least monthly on the 4th Tuesday of every month going forward, with the next meeting scheduled for June 23, 2020 at 5:30 PM.
