(Greenfield, MA) — Greenfield city council meetings will be starting a little earlier than usual beginning next month. The full council has voted to move its meeting start time from 7 pm to 6:30 pm. The original motion was to start at 6, but it was amended as part of a compromise following a protest by Council Vice President Sheila Gilmour, who said a 6pm start would conflict with her work schedule. Now that a time has been agreed upon, the council must determine whether its meetings will happen in person, virtually, or some combination of both. A motion to employ a hybrid in-person and virtual system was tabled at the end of the meeting, and will be revisited again in August.
