(Greenfield, MA) — The leadership of the Greenfield City Council is supporting Mayor Roxann Wedegartner’s decision not to issue an order mandating that protective masks be worn in public.
Council President Ashli Stempel-Rae and Vice-President Otis Wheeler issued a public statement this week where they revealed they’ve been pressured by some residents to hold an emergency meeting to discuss the matter. But after conferring with the mayor and members of the city’s emergency leadership team, no such meeting is necessary.
