(Greenfield, MA) — Greenfield’s city council president is stepping into a new role–motherhood.
Council President Ashli Stempel-Rae announced on Facebook the birth of her first daughter earlier this week with husband James Rae. Sawyer Deborah Rae was born December 7, 2020 and clocked in at 9 pounds, 10 ounces and was 22 inches. Mother and child are doing well and resting comfortably.
In addition to being the youngest council president in Greenfield history, Stempel-Rae is the first president to ever give birth while kin office.
