GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Following the resignation of Precinct 3 Greenfield City Councilor Michael Mastrototaro in January, the City Council is hoping to fill the vacancy. This appointment will fulfill the unexpired term of Mastrototaro’s until the Biennial Election in November 2027. Interested parties are asked to submit a letter of interest and attend the next City Council Committee Chairs meeting on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, 6:00 pm in City Hall or on Zoom.

CITY COUNCIL VACANCY IN PRECINCT 3

City Councilor Michael Mastrototaro has resigned from City Council, effective January 12, 2026,
leaving a vacancy in Precinct 3. According to the Greenfield City Charter, “the Council President, with
the advice of the committee chairs, may fill that seat by appointing a person residing in Precinct 3
subject to a two-thirds vote of the Councilors present.,” This appointment will fulfill the unexpired
term of Mr. Mastrototaro until the Biennial Election in November 2027.

City Council meets at 6:30 p.m. at the John Zon Community Center every third Wednesday of the
month. The newly appointed Councilor will serve on two subcommittees: Economic Development and
Community Relations, which meet on the second Tuesday and the third Monday of each month,
respectively.

so a new Councilor can be appointed at the regular Council meeting scheduled for April 15, 2026.
