(Greenfield, MA) The new Greenfield School Committee Chair Glenn Johnson-Mussad spoke on the Assistant Superintendent position last night, sparking a discussion amongst the councilors about the school budget, which has increased approximately $5 million since 2021. Several councilors spoke about their concerns around the budget and where the money is going, specifically around high paid administrative positions like the Assistant Superintendent who is one of the highest paid employees in the city. Johnson-Mussad maintained that there is value in having a position dedicated to the curriculum and that it takes time to see the results of their work.
