(Greenfield, MA) — The Greenfield City Council next month will consider a pair of issues brought through citizen petitions. One of the petitions calls for the city to reopen Court Square to through traffic. That area was closed to vehicles earlier this year as part of a pilot program designed to spur downtown economic activity. The second petition calls for a charter change requiring all public meetings to be open to in-person attendance unless a state of emergency is declared. Both petitions will be the focus of October 5th public hearings hosted by the council’s Appointments and Ordinances Committee.
