(Greenfield, MA) — Greenfield residents this week will learn how much they will be asked to pay if the city agrees to adopt the Community Preservation Act. The Greenfield City Council this week will decide the final language of the CPA ballot question, which will be voted on in November. The CPA allows the inclusion of a surcharge of between one and three percent on each property tax bill, with the money to be set aside for specific purposes such as open space protection, historic building restoration and creation of affordable housing.
