(Greenfield, MA) — It may be a while before swimming happens at the Green River Swimming and Recreation Area. The beach had already been closed due to high bacteria counts caused by heavy rains, and now, this weekend’s flash floods both forced closure of Nash’s Mill Road, but caused some structural damage which will need to be repaired before the area reopens. Greenfield Police say the road remains closed to prevent any possible further structural damage.
