(Greenfield, MA) – Greenfield Community College announced Thursday plans to move to remote learning for the fall semester. Some classes will be scheduled as traditional online classes, while other classes will require students to log in and engage with the class at certain times.

“There are many unknowns regarding the virus and a possible second wave once the flu season starts,” said President Yves Salomon-Fernandez in a recent statement.

To aid students in the new remote learning platform, new and returning students will be offered a free course in excelling in a remote learnings environment. Student feedback from the Spring 2020 semester will enhance student support services.

“At GCC, we see ourselves as having an obligation to our students and to the community as a steward of one of its anchor institutions,” said Fernandez.
