(Greenfield, MA) — Greenfield Democrats are pushing for city officials to review certain police and school policies as they relate to people of color. The Greenfield Democratic Town Committee has submitted a resolution to the city council calling on that body, the mayor and the Greenfield School Committee to take “substantive steps to impact racism, equity and inclusion in Greenfield.”

The resolution was on the city council agenda for this week, but was not acted upon when three councilors–Ed Jarvis, Dan Guin and Christine Forgey–objected. That debate will instead happen at the regular city council meeting in June.
