(Greenfield, MA) Mayor Roxann Wedegartner has lifted the mask mandate in Greenfield effective immediately. The lift does not include schools and childcare facilities that are under the care of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Face coverings are still required in healthcare facilities, public and private transportation, congregate care facilities, and emergency shelter programs. Anyone with a weakened immune system or increased risk for severe disease should continue to wear a mask in indoor spaces.
“I am satisfied by the data that we’re seeing on infection rates and vaccination rates that I can remove the mask mandate. I continue to hope that those who are unvaccinated and boosted will get their vaccines and boosters,” said Wedegartner.
