Staff Report
(Greenfield, MA) A proposed change to the Greenfield City Charter has been vetoed by the Mayor, Roxann Wedegartner. The change, which would restrict the mayor from serving as an elected chair of the Greenfield School Committee, received a unanimous vote from the City Council and the Appointments and Ordinances Committee. Mayor Wedegartner stated in a memo to the council that the mayor should have the same powers as any elected member of the committee. The Greenfield City Council will have to vote at their next meeting to override the veto to see the city charter change move forward.
